The Journal of Hand Surgery is the official publication of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
The Journal of Hand Surgery publishes original, peer-reviewed articles related to the diseases and conditions of the upper extremity. Both clinical and basic science manuscripts are considered. The journal also publishes Case Reports, which enhance the understanding of the diagnosis, treatment and pathophysiology of conditions of the upper extremity. Special features include Department of Technique articles, which emphasize the technical aspects of surgery, and Clinical Perspective reports, which place current controversial topics in their proper perspective.

L’anatomie chez Léonard de Vinci est peu connue du public, médical ou non. Les nombreux ouvrages consacrés à Léonard ne dissèquent pas cette partie de ses multiples pré-occupations.
Ce livre est une première pour deux raisons : Les auteurs empruntent un chemin inverse de celui de Léonard : repartir vers ses origines, le dessin, par la dissection. La seconde, parce que la dissection permet, avec une technique photographique, une appréhension de la main de Léonard telle qu’elle n’a jamais été abordée.
Cinq siècles plus tard, les auteurs ont disséqué ses mains, redonné vie à certaines fonctions et attitudes avec plusieurs objectifs : mieux comprendre le maître florentin, rechercher, montrer et analyser certaines de ses erreurs, révéler l’influence qu’ont eu sur lui les médecins et philosophes de l’Antiquité, confirmer voire infirmer certaines opinions fondées ou non, diffusées entre autre par les rares biographes contemporains ayant laissé de discrets mais combien précieux témoignages sur «l’uomo universale».
